But Hollywood's old-boy network never fully accepted Hughes, and in time his passion for flying began to reclaim his attentions. He began designing new planes, setting air speed records, flying around the world, and risking his life testing aircraft. Hughes also found time to romance Ava Gardner and founded his own airline, Trans-World Airlines. As his ideas became bolder and more eccentric, he gained many powerful enemies.

    Neurotic con man Roy suffers from several emotional problems, including obsessive-compulsive disorder. He and his partner Frank swindle people out of money. Frank wants to pull a really big job, but Roy is too consumed with fear and panic attacks to join him. Only cigarettes and his trusty illegal prescription drugs seem to keep him going. When Roy finds himself in desperate need of more pills, he is forced to see legitimate psychotherapist Dr. Klein. Roy discovers he has a daughter from his previous marriage and Dr. Klein suggests Roy spend time with her.
