Types of Information

There are many types of information available.  Each type has its place in your research.

Encyclopedias and dictionaries contain summaries, definitions and overviews of topics.  They're great for background research, but sometimes aren't acceptable as a source in your paper.  Be sure to check with your professor before listing them in your works cited page.
