African American Studies Center
This resource describes itself as "the online authority of the African American Experience." You'll find biographies, articles, subject descriptions, images and video, audio clips, and more chronicling African American history.

American History, 1493-1945
This unique collection documents American History from the earliest settlers to the mid-twentieth century. It is sourced from the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the finest archives available for the study of American History.

Collections of primary resources, maps, graphs, videos, and other resources covering American Indian history.

American West
From early topographical sketches and pioneers’ accounts, to photographs of Buffalo Bill and his ‘Wild West’ stars, explore the fact and the fiction of westward expansion in America from the early eighteenth to the mid-twentieth century. Colonial America
Colonial America is a five-module resource (released over five years) featuring all 1,450 files of the CO 5 class at The National Archives, UK. Consisting of the original correspondence between the Board of Trade and Secretaries of State and the English, later British, colonies in North America and the Caribbean.

European Views of the Americas: 1493 to 1750
In cooperation with the John Carter Brown Library, EBSCO Publishing created a comprehensive guide to printed records about the Americas written in Europe before 1750 from European Americana: A Chronological Guide to Works Printed In Europe Relating to the Americas, 1493-1750. The database contains more than 32,000 records, and covers the history of European exploration as well as portrayals of native American peoples.
First World War Collection

This collection of fully readable newspapers from 1800s United States collects resources from different states and populations. Available on campus or off campus with current MyJCCC ID.

Proquest Historical New York Times
This version of The New York Times includes full-text and full-image articles since 1851 and up to present excluding the most recent 3 years. Digital reproductions of every page and every article from every issue are available in downloadable PDF files. In addition to news stories, the database includes editorials, letters to the editor, obituaries, birth and marriage announcements, photos, and advertisements.

HeritageQuest contains U.S. census data from 1790-1940, as well as full text coverage of family records and local histories from all areas of the United States.
