Stipend Timeline

When you have identified a desire for utilizing material:

• Schedule an OER consultation with a librarian to discuss your OER desire and complete an assessment
• The librarian will consult with campus OER experts and determine an estimate for the scope of the stipend

A maximum of 2 semesters before intended implementation:

• Formally apply for the OER Stipend.
• Confirm and agree upon amount with the OER evaluation group, applicant’s department chair or director, and applicant’s dean
• A committee of campus OER experts will determine, if available, the stipend that can be offered
• Complete the OER and all required components (librarians will be available to assist throughout the process)
• This my include but is not limited to
• Archiving the artifacts with the library
• Applying Creative Commons licenses
• Publishing the work in a repository
• Contributing the work to a shared OER platform like LibreTexts
• Funds are not guaranteed if the agreed upon timeline is exceeded, and award amount is subject to change if agreed-upon work is deemed to have significantly transformed
• Funds Disbursed
